The third Yangtze River Delta Young and Middle-aged Woodcut Artists Invitational Exhibition opened at the Shanghai Hongqiao Contemporary Art Museum on Dec 3.
The biennial exhibition features 90 works by 48 young and middle-aged woodcut artists from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui provinces and Shanghai.
According to the organizer, this year's exhibition has underscored the close connection among the provinces and Shanghai, and invited seven curators from across the YRD region to evaluate the works and prepare the event through both online and offline channels.
Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui provinces and Shanghai share a similar woodcut art development history, while each has a distinctive artistic language of its own, experts said.
This year's exhibits illustrate modern woodcut art with diverse themes, form, and function.
The exhibition will run through Jan 3, 2023. The address of the Shanghai Hongqiao Contemporary Art Museum is No 650 Xianxia Road, Shanghai.
