Listed among the first batch of youth-oriented development sub-districts in Shanghai, Xinhong has released 36 measures aimed at building a vibrant and smart zone within the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District.
The sub-district released the measures during a recent youth development forum held at the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center.
Xinhong currently has a youth population of 31,700, which accounts for 37.30 percent of its permanent residents. To cater to the needs of the youth, authorities of the sub-district are proposing the formation of a youth innovation lab, an educational tour route, three youth development scenarios and a number of supporting measures to aid the development of the zone.
"We must work hard to meet the needs of every young person and help solve the problems in employment, entrepreneurship, life, security and social interaction," said a local official. "We want to make Xinhong a good place where talents could pursue their dreams, entrepreneurship and development."
The Youth Entrepreneurship Service Alliance and the Youth Dreams and Achievements Alliance established during the event will help the Xinhong talent service team and other local enterprises to further tap resources and offer professional services for youth talents.
The sub-district is also looking to enhance high-quality urban development through a series of "community partner" projects. Enterprises such as Hitachi, 3TREES and Glodon Co Ltd are already actively contributing to these projects.
