The opening ceremony of the Comprehensive Service Center of the Hongqiao International Central Legal Service District took place in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District on June 28.
Launched on Sept 24, 2021, the Hongqiao International Central Legal Service District aims to create a legal service ecosystem with highly concentrated resources and talents and build a comprehensive platform integrating public legal services, professional legal services and rule of law research. To date, 52 legal service institutions and general legal service institutions have settled in the district.
The Hongqiao International CBD has attracted more than 500 enterprises, including 44 multinationals, 11 foreign-funded research and development centers, 44 headquarters of private enterprise and 13 trade-oriented headquarters. In the first five months of this year, the tax revenue of the business district soared by 45.3 percent year-on-year while fixed-asset investment increased by 16 percent year-on-year.
"We are optimistic about the national strategy of the Hongqiao International Open Hub and the development momentum of the Hongqiao International Central Legal Hub. We want to seize the opportunities," said Xu Jiping, executive director of ETR Law Firm.
Looking ahead, the Hongqiao International Central Legal Hub will gather the best legal service professionals and strive to become a hub for legal services in Shanghai.
The signing of 10 major projects related to legal services was also held during the opening ceremony.
