Shanghai airports have been rolling out promotional events to boost consumption and drive economic growth during the summer transportation rush.
For example, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport has launched a promotion in its Terminal 2 building that entitles consumers who spend over 100 yuan ($13.73) within the terminal to discount coupons ranging from 25 yuan to 500 yuan.
The coupons can be used in the stores of 70 brands located within the terminal, such as Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Montblanc, Dior, Jimmy Choo, Estee Lauder, Guerlain.
Cova, a well-known Italian dessert store, and T9 Premium Tea, have also rolled out limited edition products exclusive to airport customers.
Time-honored brands such as Renhe Restaurant and Din Tai Fung also have launched airport-exclusive menus.
