Hongqiao International Airport in Shanghai saw heavy traffic during the busy summer travel season, which began on July 1 and ended on Aug 31.
According to official data released by the Hongqiao Border Inspection Station, since the resumption of international flights on March 26, the number of passengers has risen steadily, and the number of inbound and outbound international passenger trips during the period exceeded 550,000.
With the new school year approaching in major universities in North America, there has been a noticeable increase in student travelers departing from Hongqiao International Airport to South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong en route to North America. This surge in outbound Chinese students is expected to continue through mid-September.
To ensure the safe and smooth clearance of passengers, the Hongqiao Border Inspection Station has meticulously organized operations based on flight schedules and passenger flow, optimizing channels to guarantee the orderly and efficient passenger clearance.
