The Yangtze River Delta (YRD) Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics Industry Innovation Conference was held in Qingpu district in East China's Shanghai on Sept 7.
The conference featured experts from major YRD cities and industrial parks who discussed about innovation paths in robotics technology and applications, as well as strategies for the future development of robotics in the region.
Located to the east of Hongqiao and west of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, Qingpu serves as a significant gateway for Shanghai to open up to the outside world. The conference highlighted Qingpu's commitment to spearheading the development of high-tech industries, including intelligent manufacturing, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI), in the YRD.
Qingpu currently has 25 intelligent robotics companies, including major brands like Midea and Sparkoz Technology, that own over 1,000 patents.
During the conference, cooperation agreements between the YRD Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics Industry Alliance, the Shanghai Qingpu Industrial Park Development Group, and Jiashan county in Jiaxing city were signed. In addition, new AI and robotics innovation centers were officially unveiled.
Sun Lining, chief scientist of the YRD Robotics Industry Innovation Alliance, delivered a keynote speech on the innovation development of the robotics industry and the construction of the robotics ecosystem.
Looking ahead, Qingpu is aiming to accelerate the formation of innovation clusters and integrated industrial chains.
