Michelin China's headquarters in Linkong Economic Park recently achieved the LEED platinum certification for its renovation project.
The LEED certification is a globally recognized green building and urban certification system, with Platinum being the highest achievable level.
The six-story building with a total floorage of 12,000 square meters underwent a comprehensive renovation that lasted five months. The renovation saw 21 aspects of the building, including indoor air quality, drinking water, lighting, building materials, and ergonomics, upgraded.
The building is now completely powered by renewable energy and its water usage and energy consumption are 40 percent and 20 percent lower than before respectively.
Additionally, the building has a 75 percent reuse and recycling rate for building materials. Forty-five air purification systems have been installed.
