Effective Jan 1, Shanghai's Hongqiao Airport has implemented a new boarding deadline of 40 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights.
This adjustment will affect Air China, Juneyao Airlines, and an additional 11 carriers.
The objective is to provide passengers with an extended check-in period, thereby enhancing their overall travel experience.
China Eastern Airlines and China United Airlines have already advanced their boarding cutoff to 35 minutes, effective Dec 1, 2023.
As a result, all domestic flight passengers at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport will now have a boarding deadline of at most 40 minutes before takeoff.
