The groundbreaking ceremony for Guandao Biotechnology's headquarters base project in Shanghai Qingpu Industrial Park took place on Dec 28.
The project is expected to be operational by 2025.
Established in 2016, Shanghai Guandao Biotechnology Co Ltd is a national high-tech enterprise that specializes in developing equipment for the processing of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules. It also provides dispensing, decocting, packaging, transportation, and cleaning services.
The headquarters base will serve as Guandao's main production and research center.
The biopharmaceutical industry is one of Shanghai's three leading sectors. The Qingpu Industrial Park has been actively involved in this field and was recognized as one of Shanghai's first six major biopharmaceutical industry bases in 2009.
The park is presently home to 70 companies with a combined output value worth nearly tens of billion yuan.
These companies are related to diverse fields, including biopharmaceutical preparations, pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing, medical devices, medical aesthetics, traditional Chinese medicine, and animal laboratories.
