The "Japan Sake Month" event recently launched at Shanghai's Hongqiao Pinhui, featuring 108 Japanese sake companies and showcasing over 1000 premium alcohol varieties, including sake, shochu and wine.
With the theme of "Appreciating Japanese Sake, Experiencing Japanese Culture", the month-long event aims to promote Japan's alcohol culture in China through tastings, business talks, and expert classes.
At the opening ceremony, Kenji Mizuta, chief representative of JETRO's Shanghai Office, one of the event organizers, stressed the event's importance as a landmark promotion of Japanese alcohol products in China. This event is set to foster cultural exchanges and deepen Sino-Japanese friendship.
JETRO, as a partner of the China International Import Expo, not only introduced more Japanese businesses to the Chinese market but also established a year-round showcase platform called "Japan Mall" at Hongqiao Pinhui, successfully facilitating trade and cultural exchange between the two nations.
In addition to showcasing alcohol, the event also celebrated Japanese sake culture by bringing in experts such as the 14th-generation sake sommelier and Chinese-born brewmaster Wang Kuangsheng. Attendees praised the event for its immersive cultural experience and enjoyed the opportunity to savor exquisite Japanese alcohol.
