The Yuz Museum Shanghai, located in Panlong Tiandi in the Hongqiao International Central Business District, has been included in Shanghai's first batch of star-rated art museums.

This prestigious recognition was announced during the recent Shanghai Art Museum Development Theme Day event, which unveiled the city's top 25 star-rated art institutions.

Nestled along scenic rivers, paddy fields, ponds, and bamboo forests, the Yuz Museum stands out for its unique architectural design. The museum deconstructs and reconfigures traditional Jiangnan-style architecture, featuring elements like "gable walls" and "double-slope roofs". These are ingeniously supported by two sets of interlocking steel trusses, creating a harmonious blend of natural and artificial, traditional and modern elements.

The Yuz Museum opened its doors to the public in May 2023 and has since hosted a number of high-quality exhibitions. Among the most popular were Migration, Oriental Stories, and Possibilities and Echoes, which have been particularly well-received by the public.

"I've seen many fascinating exhibitions at the Yuz Museum," said a frequent visitor surnamed Huang. "I was especially impressed by the 'Water Flow Painting' titled The Twilight of the Museum, which took seven months to create. The artwork uses varying water pressures, flow rates, and angles to wash and cut the paint. Hearing the staff explain it was truly astonishing. Whenever I visit Panlong Tiandi, I often come to the museum with friends. We can easily spend an entire afternoon here."

In 2024, the Yuz Museum also launched a children's art education program called YUZ DOLAN. This initiative offers customized art courses, public education activities, and artist workshops tailored to children, creating a joyful and creative environment for young minds to express themselves and develop their artistic talent. "I brought my child here, and she loved it," said a parent surnamed Zhu. "The activities are very innovative, and children can learn a lot about art in a playful setting."

The museum is currently showcasing exhibitions such as In Silence, while the children's classroom achievement exhibition Perceive Myself is set to open after the Spring Festival.
