Bosideng, a prominent Chinese manufacturer of down jackets and outerwear, broke ground on its Shanghai headquarters on May 7 in Hongqiao International Central Business District, a business hub with a thriving headquarters economy.
The new headquarters, located in the Qingpu area within the district, will consolidate Bosideng's brand operations, retail, e-commerce, and research and development activities.
According to the company, the decision to establish its global headquarters in Hongqiao is due to the district's strategic location, convenient transportation links, rich talent pool, innovative ecosystem, and strong supply chain. These factors are pivotal for Bosideng as it seeks to enhance its global footprint.
Hongqiao serves as a gateway for global enterprises entering China and a launchpad for domestic companies expanding internationally. By setting up its headquarters here, Bosideng aims to capitalize on the integrated development opportunities of the Yangtze River Delta and leverage the district's business-friendly environment to become a global leader in the apparel industry.
Founded in 1976, Bosideng has grown into a leading global brand with six factories and over 20,000 employees. It has dominated China's down jacket market for 26 years and boasts a brand value of 33.1 billion yuan ($4.29 billion).
Its products are sold in 72 countries, including key markets like the United States, France, and Italy. Bosideng International Holdings Limited has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 2007.
