Eligibility
This service applies to employers and applicants applying for a Foreigner's Work Permit in Shanghai.
For employers
1. Employers must be legally established in China, maintain a physical office, pay taxes and social insurance in accordance with the law, and hold a clean compliance record. The position offered must be of special necessity, with no suitable domestic candidates available, and must not violate Chinese laws and regulations. The salary must meet or exceed the local minimum wage.
2. If the position requires prior approval from a competent industry authority, the employer must obtain this approval before submitting the application.
For applicants
1. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, in good health, and have no criminal record. They must be employed by a confirmed domestic company and possess the necessary professional skills or relevant knowledge.
2. The position must align with China's economic and social development priorities and be classified as urgently needed or in short supply.
3. Where other Chinese laws or regulations provide different provisions for foreign employment, those shall prevail.

Unified social credit code (机构统一社会信用代码): The code used for registration in the Ministry of Science and Technology system or the Shanghai system.
Valid contact person's phone number (有效经办人电话): The mobile number of the contact person registered in the Ministry of Science and Technology system or the Shanghai system.
Application number (业务编号): The application number in the Service System for Foreigners Working in China (https://fwp.safea.gov.cn/lhgzweb/).
