China Eastern Airlines streamlines Shanghai airport transfers

China Eastern Airlines has launched a major upgrade to its "SHA to PVG Transfer Service", making travel between Shanghai's two main airports, Hongqiao (SHA) and Pudong (PVG), more convenient than ever.

Since late July, domestic passengers arriving at Hongqiao from 13 airports — Beijing Capital, Beijing Daxing, Xi'an, Kunming, Chengdu Shuangliu, Chengdu Tianfu, Qingdao, Jinan, Nanchang, Lanzhou, Taiyuan, Wuhan, and Guangzhou — can transfer to same-day international flights departing from Pudong without needing to collect luggage or check in again.

The upgraded service facilitates connections to 47 international destinations, such as Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.

"SHA to PVG Transfer Service" counters are already in place at both airports, allowing passengers to check their bags and confirm their onward flights without leaving the terminal or repeating procedures. This streamlined process is designed to "free traveler's hands" and significantly reduces transfer time and effort.

With the introduction of the new Airport Link Line, which opened in December last year and cuts travel time between Hongqiao and Pudong to just 40 minutes, Shanghai is setting a new benchmark for inter-airport transfers, faster, simpler, and more efficient.
