The first International Advanced Air Mobility Expo concluded on July 26 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center or NECC in Shanghai — marking a significant milestone for the burgeoning low-altitude economy.

The four-day event attracted nearly 300 exhibitors and over 55,200 visitors, showcasing a wide range of innovations in drones, eVTOLs or electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, as well as flying cars and low-altitude infrastructure.

The expo featured 201 aircraft — including 44 debut products, with global firsts like the Vector5, a seven-seat eVTOL designed for medical and cargo transport and China's ZC500 drone, that's capable of carrying 260 kilograms.

During the event, a raft of strategic partnerships were formed, indicating a shift from technological exploration to large-scale commercial applications.

The expo proved to be a hotbed for transactions, with Chinese eVTOL aircraft manufacturer Volant Aerotech signing a record-breaking $1.75 billion deal with Thailand's Pan Pacific Co Ltd for 500 units of eVTOLs. Other notable deals included orders for 450 industrial drones and significant interest in Seabee amphibious aircraft.

More than 30 forums brought together over 4,000 global leaders to discuss the low-altitude economy's ecosystem.

The event also saw the announcement of the Eastern China Low-Altitude Economic Industry Alliance and the release of the Low-Altitude Economy Infrastructure Framework Guide (2025 Edition) by the China Civil Airports Association, setting the stage for future growth.

Crowd-pulling engagements were a highlight, with interactive exhibits and the 2025 National Aerospace Model Championship drawing onlookers. The expo's impact was amplified by extensive media coverage, reaching millions through live broadcasts and social media.
