In 2016, Singaporean entrepreneur Joey Yeo arrived in Shanghai without a job or firm plan.
What began as a tentative visit turned into a lasting commitment — leading him to settle in the Hongqiao International Central Business District and launch a trailblazing pet care and rehabilitation business.
His business venture, HEAL Petcare, integrates advanced rehabilitation practices and equipment from Singapore, Australia and the United States. It specializes in care for aging or injured pets — now operating in Hongqiao CBD and Xuhui district, with plans to expand into other brands and cities.

The selection of Hongqiao International CBD was strategic. "It has a prime location, ample space and global ambiance," Yeo recalled. "The district's international talent services and streamlined procedures for foreigners facilitate hiring professionals from Singapore, Southeast Asia and the United States," he added.
As Vice-Chairman of the Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, Yeo promotes bilateral trade relations. He recommends Hongqiao to Singaporean firms for its quality office environments, connectivity within the Yangtze River Delta and vibrant international community — all of which has encouraged several companies to establish roots there.
In 2024, Yeo was appointed a Shanghai International Experience Officer, advising on foreign-related services. He praises Hongqiao's global atmosphere, educational quality and convenience as ideal foundations for long-term residence and global business expansion.
