Grab to connect: Where coffee meets the world

Home to both Hongqiao Airport and Hongqiao Railway Station, the Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD) is quickly becoming a hotspot for coffee lovers and businesses thanks to its role as a major transport hub that connects Shanghai with other cities in the Yangtze River Delta region and the world.

Massive foot traffic fuels a booming coffee market, strategic location makes it an ideal gathering place, and convenient transport links facilitate the development of the coffee industry.

The Hongqiao International Coffee Harbor, a coffee hub in the CBD, now serves as a key entry point for beans from 47 Belt and Road countries and 15 Silk Road e-commerce partners.

It also helps export Chinese specialty coffee, such as Yunnan beans, to international markets. Leveraging the transport advantages, coffee beans are swiftly distributed to the harbor, and then exported globally through bonded logistics centers.

The harbor has fostered a thriving industry cluster, attracting a growing number of coffee-related businesses from the Yangtze River Delta. It encompasses the entire coffee supply chain, from production and R&D to finance and design, boosting efficiency and encouraging innovation and collaboration.

Cultural events like the Hongqiao International Coffee Culture Festival further enhance the CBD's global appeal. The festival, capitalizing on local passenger and logistics flow, promotes the integration of coffee with cultural tourism and commerce.

This year, the festival expanded its popular event "The First Cup of Coffee in Shanghai", which originally was confined to the bustling Hongqiao Railway Station, to include the international airport, greeting travelers with the delightful aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
