The upcoming Hongqiao International Economic Forum's sub-forum on building Hongqiao International Open Hub will explore opportunities and challenges faced by Chinese companies in expanding internationally, organizers said at a recent press conference.
Set to take place in early November, the Hongqiao Sub-Forum is an important part of the 2025 China International Import Expo (CIIE) Shanghai Events and Conferences.
The Hongqiao International Central Business District Administrative Committee outlined plans and topics for this year's sub-forum.
The forum will include keynote speeches and two roundtable discussions. Keynotes will address corporate globalization strategies and the evolving international trade environment. Discussions will cover strategies for internationalization amid global value chain restructuring and pathways for Chinese companies' transnational operations.
The first roundtable will see entrepreneurs and media figures discuss the integration of international expansion with corporate strategies and the challenges faced by Chinese companies abroad. The second roundtable will focus on how professional services can empower Chinese companies to go global, with insights from service industry representatives.
New initiatives at this year's forum include the release of a guide for Chinese enterprises going global, offering strategic insights and practical advice. The Hongqiao Cases will showcase the diversity and vitality of the "Chinese approach" across various sectors such as dining, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and finance. Additionally, the launch of the Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center 3.0 will provide integrated services for international business development, talent cultivation, trade cooperation, and innovation collaboration.
During the 2025 CIIE, the Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center will host events in partnership with various organizations, focusing on topics such as enterprise internationalization, trade digitalization, AI, ESG, and life sciences. These activities aim to connect companies with international resources and address challenges in overseas operations.
