On Oct 27, the first batch of bonded exhibits for the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) was transported from the Hongqiao Central Business District Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) at Hongqiao 365 to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), where the CIIE is held.
Li Guanglin, supply chain manager at Hongqiao 365, said that the initial exhibits feature gemstones from different countries, totaling over $7 million in value.
Thanks to smooth customs clearance, these items will be displayed and sold at the upcoming expo. Unsold items can be returned to the logistics center and re-exported after the event. Additionally, a Russian artwork will be exhibited in Shanghai following the expo.
Over the past seven years, the Hongqiao logistics center has managed CIIE exhibits valued at over $120 million, supporting more than 270 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions. It provides services such as bonded display and cross-border e-commerce to international exhibitors.
Ahead of the 2025 CIIE, Hongqiao 365, a platform transforming expo products into continuous trade opportunities, has been upgraded with three new exhibition areas. These upgrades aim to help exhibitors become investors and turn exhibits into market-ready products. The platform also features over 100 new products along with activities like Brazil Coffee Day and the European Wine Cellar Feast, designed to enhance the expo experience. Attendees can enjoy discounts using their CIIE credentials.
The Hongqiao logistics center has set up a special service window and "green channel" for the expo to facilitate smooth customs clearance. In partnership with the local government, it provides policy briefings and consultations to assist businesses in maximizing the expo. By promoting cross-border e-commerce live streaming, the center supports emerging business models and boosts the influence of the CIIE.
