The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) Extended Effect Forum was held in Shanghai on Nov 7, introducing cases demonstrating the CIIE's positive effects.
These cases covered transforming exhibits into market-ready products, turning exhibitors into long-term investors, and integrating exhibitions with business, travel, culture, and sports.
The forum showcased how products displayed at the CIIE have successfully entered the Chinese market, moving from "exhibit debut" to "market bestseller".
For example, Theland has launched new products globally at CIIE for eight consecutive years. Relying on trade facilitation policies to shorten customs clearance time, it has increased the weekly supply of fresh milk from 3,000 bottles to a maximum of 80,000 bottles, achieving a 26-fold growth in fresh milk sales and becoming a leading brand of imported dairy products.
Companies like Samyang Foods, which first participated in the CIIE in 2020, established a trade headquarters in Shanghai the following year. By 2024, its market size in China had reached 2.6 billion yuan ($365.245 million), accounting for nearly 30 percent of the group's global exports.
The UK-based EGG Incubator has built a tech innovation ecosystem around the CIIE, connecting with the Yangtze River Delta's supply chain and nurturing high-tech projects.
Hongqiao Xintiandi, relying on its geographical advantages, successfully converted CIIE traffic into tangible benefits. It has developed the "exhibition - business district - community" integration mechanism. Through themed activities, brand launches, and optimization of first-stop experiences, it has attracted over 1.2 million visitors, driven sales growth and attracted international brands.
