The South Hongqiao Area is a key part of the Hongqiao International Open Hub and is becoming a new center of the digital economy in Shanghai due to a large number of companies that specialize in the field setting up offices in the area.
The "Source of Hongqiao" Online New Economy Ecological Park – located in the Changning area of the Hongqiao International Central Business District in Shanghai city in East China – was launched at the 2022 Shanghai Global Investment Promotion Conference on June 16.
Shanghai is consolidating its position as a hub for the online new economy, a year after the municipal government released a guideline to bolster the sector's development.
