Shanghai's Minhang district recently signed an agreement on Feb 6 with a university in Zhejiang province to set up an ophthalmic medical center in the district's Huacao town.
According to the agreement, the district and Wenzhou Medical University will deepen their cooperation to empower the biomedical industry of the Qianwan area of the Hongqiao International CBD and develop the ophthalmic medical center into a landmark project.
Meanwhile, the two sides will cooperate on technical breakthroughs, personnel training, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and bring more labs, research centers and key investment projects to Minhang.
The new medical center will be world-class, with cutting-edge facilities and internationally famous experts, said a representative from Wenzhou Medical University, adding that a medical service network and high-end flagship park for optometry diagnosis and treatment will be launched with leading enterprises and association in the field.
In recent years, Minhang has gradually built a modern industrial system with its own characteristics through optimizing the overall layout of its four major high-end manufacturing industries of high-end equipment, new generation information technology, biological medicine and artificial intelligence.
In addition, the district has been home to the research and development headquarters of a group of domestic industrial leaders such as Innovent, Wego, Yunnan Baiyao, Neusoft Medical Systems Co, and Chia-tai Tianqing.
