All grid relocation and reconstruction works of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway have been completed recently, significantly supporting the urban transport network, said Jiangsu's power supplier.
The main line, which passes through Shanghai, Suzhou in Jiangsu province, and Huzhou in Zhejiang province, has a total length of about 163.8 kilometers. As a crucial hub in the intercity rail transit network of the Yangtze River Delta region, the HSR line is expected to be open to traffic by the end of this year.
To cooperate with the HSR construction, involved power suppliers have been relocating or undergrounding power lines that cross the planned routes of the line and have not met safety clearance requirements since June 2020.
"During the relocation and reconstruction, we optimized the operation method of the power grid and minimized the impact on users through load transfer and provision of temporary power generation devices," said Gu Guoping, director of the equipment management department of State Grid Suzhou Wujiang District Power Supply Co.
Gu added that the power supplier has also adopted visual intelligent stringing equipment to install overhead conductors and ground wires to reduce construction time and operation risks.
