Shanghai Shopping Festival to kick off with jam-packed events

Shanghai has unveiled plans for the eagerly anticipated Shanghai Shopping Festival, its fifth edition this year, promising a vibrant array of activities and events for residents and visitors.

Scheduled to kick off in late April and continue till the end of June, the festival aims to bolster the city's economy by integrating commerce, travel, culture, and sports.

The festival promises to be a pivotal driver for economic growth, serving as a platform for consumption and investment and incubating new models, brands, and scenarios. Furthermore, it will play a crucial role in promoting Shanghai globally and establishing the city as an international consumption hub.

With a focus on four key economic sectors, including the debut economy, brand economy, nighttime economy, and livestreaming economy, as well as four major types of consumption, including new type consumption, services consumption, automobile consumption and green consumption, the festival will feature over 1,000 distinctive activities. Among the highlights are 15 benchmark events and 16 themed activities across Shanghai's diverse districts.

Standout events include the Shanghai Night Festival, which promises several nighttime activities ranging from shopping and dining to entertainment and sports. Meanwhile, the Shanghai Global Gourmet Festival will indulge your taste buds with an array of international cuisines and culinary delights.

Following the Shanghai Shopping Festival, the city will roll out its inaugural "Shanghai Summer" International Consumption Season from July to October. The new campaign will feature high-quality events, including concerts, exhibitions, and sports competitions, aimed at enhancing the city's international appeal and promoting quality consumption experiences.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay updated on the festival schedule through various channels, including the Shanghai government's online platform and the Suishenban app, to participate in the exciting lineup of events and activities.
