A signing ceremony for 37 companies, including FAW-Volkswagen, Otsuka Chemical and more, was held in the Minhang area of Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District on Sept 28. The newly inked projects span sectors like renewable energy, biopharma, international trade, and finance, boosting Hongqiao in its role as a global business hub.
PCG Power, one of the 37 contracting parties, was incubated in 2022 by a fund established by Poly Capital. Zhou Yanzhou, government relations director of the company, stated that Hongqiao has become the hub of PCG Power's six major offices in cities like Guangzhou, Beijing, and Hangzhou across the country. By virtue of the great convenience of Hongqiao, PCG's business can rapidly spread to more than 20 provinces across China, providing services to more than 1,000 corporate parks.
The Global New Energy Empowerment Center unveiled at the ceremony is a functional platform for the development of the new energy industry that integrates innovative research and development, financial investment, talent training, market expansion, policy consulting, and various certifications. Relying on the resources of the Shanghai New Energy Industry Association, the center will inject strong momentum for Minhang's sci-tech innovation, industry upgrading, and high-quality development.
With a strong development momentum, the Minhang area of Hongqiao International CBD has attracted a large number of quality enterprises this year. In the first seven months, Minhang had over 2,000 new companies, including 17 headquarters businesses.
