As the first A1-class general-purpose airport within a busy airport control zone in East China, Shanghai Xinhong Helicopter Airport's registration marks a major advancement in the region's air traffic model.
Open to the public and authorized for commercial operations under civil aviation regulations, the airport provides a foundation for standardized low-altitude commercial services in the Yangtze River Delta region. It permits regulated commercial activities by low-altitude aircraft, thereby boosting Shanghai's low-altitude economy and enhancing passenger transportation options.
Located in Shanghai's Minhang district, near Gate 25 of Terminal 2 at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, it is less than 100 meters from the main Hongqiao Airport premises. This proximity allows for seamless connections between helicopter services and conventional air travel.
Together with the Suzhou Hengshan Helicopter Airport and the Suzhou Songling Helicopter Airport, the three facilities form a helicopter shuttle network linking Suzhou city's Wujiang district with Hongqiao Airport, enabling seamless travel through integrated helicopter and commercial airline services.
