Shanghai-based AKD, a leading name in the used car market, has sold over 8,000 cars, attracted more than 100,000 visitors, and recorded a transaction volume close to 3 billion yuan ($411 million) this year.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the company has redefined the car buying experience in the Hongqiao International Central Business District. The AKD Luxury Cars Mall, often called the "pinnacle of the used car market", continues to draw car enthusiasts with its vast collection of over 100 car brands.
A Shanghai resident surnamed Zhao praised the variety and value at AKD, saying, "The selection is incredible, from affordable models to luxury brands like Porsche. We came just to look but ended up buying a car."
AKD's unique business model, which includes owning and operating its own showrooms, ensures a premium customer experience. Their fixed-price sales model guarantees fair pricing based on car condition, mileage, and market trends. The "fair sale" acquisition model promises a maximum gross margin of 5 percent, with any excess shared with the original owner.
The company also simplifies the vehicle transfer process with an on-site DMV service station, allowing same-day purchases and registrations.
With a total area exceeding 120,000 square meters and a five-story car showroom, AKD (Shanghai) Luxury Car Mall offers a one-stop service model that includes car selection, purchase, evaluation, sale, insurance, financing, and registration.
Expanding its footprint, AKD plans to establish a presence in 12 cities within the next five years, targeting an annual transaction volume of 100 billion yuan. Leveraging Shanghai's new vehicle renewal policy, it aims to lead the high-quality development of the used car industry in the Yangtze River Delta region.
