The 2025 Hongqiao International Economic Forum has started accepting theme proposals.
Wang Hongwei, director of the Forum Department at the China International Import Expo Bureau, made the announcement at a recent meeting of forum members and partners held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on Jan 9.
Wang invited member corporations, think tanks, media partners, CIIE exhibitors, and experts to actively participate in shaping the agenda for the eighth edition of the Hongqiao Forum.
Fu Li, director of the World Economic Research Institute, outlined the thematic direction of the forum.
The forum will continue to center around global openness, facilitating dialogue on technological and industrial revolutions, promoting an open global economy, and improving global economic governance.
Fu suggested four principles for setting themes: innovation and integrity, frontier and practicality, openness and internationalization, and upholding the Chinese perspective.
