Shanghai-based listed private company MOONS', an intelligent equipment manufacturer, commenced construction on its new global headquarters and research and development (R&D) center in the Qianwan area of Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD) on Feb 19.
With a substantial investment of over 1 billion yuan (approximately $13.79 million), the new facility will include a global corporate headquarters, national-level R&D technology center, innovation incubation center, and cross-border e-commerce platform focused on intelligent equipment and motion control products.
MOONS', established in 1994, went public in May 2017 and now operates 30 wholly-owned and holding subsidiaries worldwide, with business operations spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
The company is renowned for its advanced manufacturing capabilities in the intelligent equipment motion control sector and was recognized as one of Shanghai's top 100 manufacturing enterprises in 2024.
"Choosing the Qianwan area for our headquarters and R&D center marks a significant step forward in our journey towards intelligent transformation and digitalization," said Chang Jianyun, vice-president of MOONS', during the groundbreaking ceremony.
The Qianwan area has become a hub for various industry clusters, including biopharmaceuticals, cultural and creative industries, e-sports, and the digital economy. The new project is expected to attract more upstream and downstream enterprises in the motion control systems industry to the area.
