With a focus on innovation-driven development and higher-level openness, the Qingpu area of Shanghai's Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD) is making significant strides in fostering an international first-class business environment to better serve enterprises.
To further facilitate foreign trade, Qingpu is actively developing a pilot zone for Silk Road e-commerce cooperation, pioneering open measures and enhancing the influence of the China International Import Expo.
It aims to become a hub for digital economy cooperation by aligning with international trade rules and upgrading international trade practices. Key initiatives include supporting high-tech industries like integrated circuits, expanding local product exports, and enhancing the import efficiency for fresh products. The area is also aiding cross-border e-commerce businesses in expanding their overseas warehouse operations.
To attract foreign enterprises, efforts are underway to expedite foreign investment projects. With 15 foreign-funded headquarters and 19 R&D centers, the district is building an ecosystem for foreign investment services and promoting the efficient communication and resolution of enterprise needs.
Recognizing the importance of openness, Qingpu is enhancing services and building a professional team for foreign investment, while a professional "going global" service platform is being established to provide comprehensive consulting services.
It has also rolled out new policies intended to bolster innovation and entrepreneurship through financial support, housing subsidies, and educational resources. The district is enhancing digital applications and providing comprehensive support for foreign talent, including residency and business visas.
