The Greater Hongqiao Ice Sports Center opened with the 2025 Yangtze River Delta Youth Ice Hockey Spring League on April 13 at the Hongqiao Sports Park in Changning district, Shanghai.
This state-of-the-art facility is the first Olympic-level ice sports center in the Greater Hongqiao Area and the first ice rink in Changning to be built to international standards.
It features two standard ice surfaces for competitions and training, along with amenities like athlete and coach lounges, referee rooms, and VIP meeting spaces.
It will serve as a hub for public fitness, sports activities, and professional training, allowing residents to enjoy ice sports such as skating and ice hockey through ticket purchases or coaching sessions.
A professional club has been established within the center, focusing on nurturing young ice sports talent through a structured and diverse training program.
The local sports bureau also launched an initiative to introduce ice skating to beginners from local companies with tailored courses and engaging teaching methods from professional coaches.
Hongqiao Sports Park is a comprehensive sports complex offering facilities for various sports, including basketball, badminton, and table tennis.
