Shanghai's Hongqiao Linkong Economic Park in Changning district is strengthening its role as a business-friendly hub by offering full-cycle services and improved infrastructure to support enterprise development.
In recent years, the park has built a robust government-business communication mechanism, assigning a dedicated liaison officer to provide its customers with end-to-end solutions for everything from investment consultation to daily operations.
Located near Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and connected by Metro Lines 2 and 10, the 13.89-square-kilometer park houses over 1,400 enterprises and 70,000 white-collar workers. However, its ever-increasing density has placed pressure on transportation infrastructure.
To address this, a new elevated section is being constructed above the Outer Ring Road without disrupting traffic. A pedestrian bridge will also be built over the Suzhou Creek to link the park with Putuo and Jiading districts.
"Thanks to effective coordination and a shared commitment to business services, both projects are progressing rapidly and will be completed within two to three years," said Sun Yin, Party secretary of the park.
Every week, more than 20 liaison officers will hold meetings to share policy updates and company feedback, helping resolve common issues. To solve the "last mile" problem for smaller firms, shared shuttle bus services were introduced, now serving thousands of employees.
In September 2024, an underground passage from Songhong Road Metro Station opened, easing pedestrian traffic. Sun later led business representatives on a walkthrough to gather feedback, upgrading the signage system with input from professional designers and enterprise staff.
