The fourth session of the Cross-Border E-Commerce International Talent Development Program, jointly launched by the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce and the United Nations International Trade Center (ITC), is about to begin.

The two sides aim to establish a talent development and exchange platform to help more young international talent study in China and contribute to the development of the cross-border e-commerce industry through practical training.

Since its inception at the 2019 China International Import Expo, the program has successfully trained over 12,000 participants, including 39 international students from developing countries. The upcoming training session, scheduled for later this year, is expected to have over over 3,000 participants, with approximately 20 international students.

The training camp, which commenced in July 2023, offers a comprehensive curriculum combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Participants engage in intensive week-long training sessions followed by four-week internships at various enterprises.

The curriculum covers diverse topics such as cross-cultural marketing, e-commerce data analysis, supply chain management, and live-streaming in cross-border e-commerce. Esteemed experts lead these sessions, providing insights through real-world case studies and company visits.

The program has yielded remarkable outcomes. Many participants have secured permanent positions with their internship companies, while others have embarked on entrepreneurial ventures. Notably, two Moroccan participants, Riyad and Zaid, have successfully established their own company in Shanghai, leveraging cross-border e-commerce to export Chinese goods internationally.

The program also helps address industry needs, such as the demand for multilingual live-streaming talent. By facilitating internships for international students at Chinese industrial parks, the initiative has effectively bridged gaps in local business operations, with some students generating sales during their training.
