Avatr Technology, a leader in high-end intelligent electric vehicles, has set up a new subsidiary in Shanghai's Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD).
The subsidiary is located close to an emerging intelligent connected vehicle industry cluster, highlighting its focus on advancing intelligent driving technology.
It will focus on the development of AI application software, automotive parts R&D, IT consulting services and data storage solutions — exploring deep integration of AI technology within the automotive industry.
Avatr, a premium brand under Avatr Technology, is dedicated to pioneering the future of mobility through innovative research and development — aspiring to become a global leader in the high-end intelligent electric vehicle market.
Key shareholders include Chinese auto giant Changan Automobile and CATL, a leader in battery technology. Huawei is also a partner, providing intelligent driving and smart cockpit components.
Avatr is combining Changan's manufacturing, CATL's battery breakthroughs and Huawei's smart technologies to create a new generation of intelligent electric vehicles.
As autonomous driving technology matures, Avatr's investment in automotive component R&D is said to signal a focus on enhancing the core competencies of its autonomous driving systems, such as sensor and control unit development.
The expansion into Shanghai is expected to help Avatr attract top talent and accelerate AI applications in the automotive field.
