Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport has upgraded its cross-airline ticket transfer service on the Beijing-Shanghai Shuttle after a three-month trial.
Passengers flying with China Eastern Airlines or those using Air China tickets worth 80 percent or more of the full fare can now change flights without paying service fees or fare differences.
Those holding tickets worth 60-80 percent of the full fare need only pay the price difference, lowering the cost of rescheduling.
The service has also been extended to government and corporate tickets, further improving convenience for business and official travelers on the Beijing-Shanghai Shuttle.
The service was first introduced in May by Hongqiao Airport, China Eastern, Air China and Beijing Capital International Airport.
Hongqiao currently operates 16 shuttle routes to major cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Xi'an, with more than 70 percent of its total passenger volume coming from shuttle flights. The Beijing-Shanghai route alone carries over 10 million passengers annually.
At Hongqiao Airport, shuttle flight passengers enjoy dedicated check-in counters, exclusive security channels, priority boarding, priority gate access, fixed baggage carousels and guaranteed delivery of the last piece of luggage within 30 minutes.
