The Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD) hosted a roundtable meeting with Spanish entrepreneurs on Dec 5 to explore new opportunities for collaboration.
Kong Fu'an, executive deputy director of the CBD's administrative committee, highlighted Hongqiao's key advantages to the audience, focusing on its strengths in transportation, exhibitions, commerce, and technology. He also invited Spanish companies to consider Hongqiao as a strategic base for entering and growing in China.
María Simó, economic and commercial counselor from the Spanish Consulate in Shanghai, emphasized the strong relationship between China and Spain, noting that China is Spain's largest trading partner outside the European Union.
Simó pointed out successful collaborations in renewable energy, digital economy, artificial intelligence, and electric vehicles, and expressed optimism for more partnerships in high-end manufacturing, financial services, and the green economy through Hongqiao.
Representatives from Spanish companies and institutions exchanged insights on investment, industrial cooperation, and talent policies. The discussions offered a platform for entrepreneurs to discover new business opportunities.
The Hongqiao CBD plans to continue improving its international business environment to attract more global companies and foster mutual growth.
Before the meeting, Spanish entrepreneurs visited the Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center and the Hongqiao International Talents Service Center to learn about the resources available to support their ventures in China.
