François Balumuene, the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to China, along with Kazumba Mayombo William, director general of DRC's Office of Multimodal Freight Management, led a delegation to the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD) on Dec 8.
Kong Fu'an, executive deputy director of the CBD's administrative committee, welcomed the DRC delegation. Both parties expressed a strong desire to strengthen economic and trade ties.
During their visit, the delegation toured the Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center and the Hongqiao International Talents Service Center.
Kong introduced the measures being implemented to facilitate cross-border resource flows and support the development of international talent within the business district.
They engaged in detailed discussions about supply chains and bulk trade cooperation.
Kong highlighted Hongqiao's role as a hub for passenger flow, logistics, and trade. The district hosts 283 corporate headquarters and offers top-notch education, healthcare, and commercial services, making it attractive for foreign businesses.
He pledged to provide efficient and convenient services for DRC enterprises and institutions, aiming to elevate practical cooperation to new heights.
On the same day, the DRC and Central-East Africa Smart Supply Chain Management Conference was held in the CBD, during which Kong gave a welcome speech, reinforcing the commitment to enhancing bilateral relations.
