A series of summer events across Shanghai's Hongqiao International Central Business District is turning shopping centers and lifestyle venues into nighttime destinations, combining culture, music, drinks, crafts, sports and family-friendly activities.
At Xintiandi, the second Viva Latino festival brought Latin American flair to the district from June 5 to 7 and June 12 to 14. Supported by the consulates general of Peru, Chile and Argentina in Shanghai and upgraded in partnership with Hongqiao Pinhui, the event featured a Latin American market, cultural performances, workshops, interactive challenges, football-themed programs and nighttime dining experiences.
At Longfor Hongqiao Paradise Walk, the Walk in Cheers event, running from June 12 to Aug 31, is turning its outdoor Tianjieli commercial street into a summer nightlife zone with pop-up drink brands, creative lifestyle labels, immersive check-in installations, romantic night lighting and outdoor walking routes.
Livat Shanghai is offering a fun music party at its Nordic-style outdoor campsite, bringing folk music, evening breezes and cold drinks to residents and visitors seeking a relaxed alternative to livehouse crowds and ticketed performances.
At Lidoway, the Slow Summer and Woven Breeze event, running from June to August, features craft workshops, hand-painted canvas bags, football nights, Chinese-style market stalls, lantern parties, children's performances and other relaxed summer activities.
Together, the events show how Hongqiao is enriching its nighttime consumption by linking culture, leisure, shopping, sports and community life across diverse commercial venues.
