The Hongqiao International Talents Service Center handled more than 53,000 talent service visits in the first half of 2026, up 44 percent year-on-year. This came as it rolled out expanded services for global professionals and companies in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District.
Overseas talent services reached 12,000 visits, up 26 percent, including 4,434 foreigner work permit services and 3,172 visits through the overseas talent platform. Domestic talent services totaled 18,000 visits, while the number of enterprise services climbed to 14,000.
The center also organized 69 talent events, up 50 percent, drawing more than 4,660 participants online and offline. Its 24-hour smart endorsement service for travel permits to Hong Kong and Macao processed nearly 18,000 applications.
To support outbound and inbound travelers' specific demands, the center provided tailored APEC Business Travel Card guidance on a one-on-one basis. It also built a database of outbound service cases.
Since trial operations began in June 2025, the 24-hour endorsement service has processed more than 35,000 applications. For overseas talent coming to China, it improved landing services, launched a multilingual AI service tool, and opened an instant "refund upon purchase" service point for departure tax refunds.
Service functions were upgraded through talent symposiums, on-site professional-title policy briefings and a professional-title service window covering 24 fields under Shanghai's public service system.
The center also held eight university recruitment events, bringing 110-plus companies to campuses, offering nearly 1,000 jobs and receiving more than 5,300 resumes from over 30 Shanghai universities. Its four series of branded events drew more than 900 participants.
