The 2026 CIIE Shanghai Events and Conferences will take place from Nov 6 to 9 as an important component of the China International Import Expo (CIIE) and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum.
This year's program will focus on six key areas: opening-up, global business expansion, trade innovation, green development, consumer potential and artificial intelligence.
It will continue its "1+2+X" format, featuring a Shanghai investment promotion conference, two sub-forums in Hongqiao and Pudong, and around 100 side events.
Government officials, international organization leaders, business executives, scholars and experts will gather to discuss global economic opportunities and challenges.
More small-scale workshops, closed-door meetings and roundtables will be held this year. An upgraded event mini-program will help participants check schedules and arrange one-on-one meetings.
The event will also release research findings, promote industry standards and facilitate international cooperation projects.
Since its launch in 2024, the event has attracted about 17,000 participants, with CIIE exhibitors and buyers accounting for over half of all participants. It helps turn ideas and connections from the CIIE into new opportunities for international cooperation.
