In a significant boost to the local economy, Shanghai's Huacao town, part of the Minhang area of the Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD), recently held an investment promotion event, which saw the signing of agreements on 10 major projects and the unveiling of 18 new policies aimed at benefiting businesses.
The event highlighted the town's commitment to fostering industry clusters, enhancing production capacity, attracting key projects, and supporting talent. These efforts are designed to spur innovation and drive the growth of key industries, positioning enterprises for success in a competitive global market.
The new policies released at the forum target six key sectors—biomedicine, medical devices, digital economy, modern commerce, modern finance, and industrial chain leaders.
This year, the town is integrating opportunity lists, pilot innovations, and engagement activities into the "2025 Huacao Town Application Scenarios", which is aimed at encouraging active participation in Hongqiao's development. It has identified 19 key scenarios, including environmental management, urban governance, and park transformation, which will help to bring technological innovation in line with market demand.
During the event, Huacao town signed agreements with 10 companies on 10 major projects that span key areas such as modern commerce, digital economy, and modern finance.
The event also saw the formation of the Huacao Town Business Environment Service Alliance, which includes the Huacao International Education Service Alliance, the Huacao International Medical Service Alliance, and the Huacao Talent Housing Service Alliance.
