Shanghai is set to optimize transport services for foreigners, according to an action plan released by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Transport in March to improve the city's business environment in the transportation sector.

To better serve foreign travelers, Shanghai is piloting multilingual services at key rail transit stations and improving bilingual or multilingual signage at major transportation hubs and along key city roads.

The plan also includes expanding English-language support for car license plate auctions.

Additionally, efforts are underway to improve facilities at Pudong International Airport.

The city will optimize services at the airport's foreign visitor center, install electronic translators in its terminals, and improve the layout of passenger service stations.

Shanghai is also working to make payments easier by enabling ticket purchases at passenger transport hubs with both domestic and international bank cards.

At the same time, the city is promoting the development of foreign-language versions of ride-hailing apps to enhance accessibility.
