The three-day Fourth Yangtze River Delta (YRD) International Emergency Disaster Reduction and Rescue Expo wrapped up on May 15 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), spotlighting cutting-edge advancements in emergency management across the YRD region.
The expo covered 60,000 square meters and featured six main exhibition areas: emergency disaster prevention, comprehensive rescue equipment, safety protection products, industry services, safety science education, and technological innovations in emergency management. Additionally, specialized zones for aerial and water rescue drew significant attention.
Over 500 leading companies from nearly 20 countries and regions participated, showcasing more than 3,000 state-of-the-art technologies and equipment related to emergency rescue, smart security, and disaster prevention.
Notably, 120 breakthrough products made their global or Asian debuts, including AI warning systems, intelligent firefighting drones, and modular water rescue robots. These innovations are set to play pivotal roles in urban safety management, extreme weather responses, and cross-border collaborative rescue efforts.
This year's expo introduced a new procurement information platform, emphasizing resilient urban safety, flood emergency responses, hazardous chemical safety, and mine safety protocols.
The platform aims to enhance the safety emergency industry chain through a strategic model: precise pre-expo matching, cooperation during the event, and post-expo project implementation. This initiative is designed to accelerate the integration and transformation of the safety emergency sector.
By fostering international collaboration and showcasing the latest technological advancements, the event underscored the critical need for resilient and adaptive safety strategies. It highlighted the growing importance of modernizing emergency management, ensuring that cities are better prepared to handle both natural and man-made disasters.
