Medical device giant Weigao's WEGO Medical Park recently opened in the Qianwan area of Hongqiao International Central Business District in Shanghai, marking a significant boost to Qianwan's biomedical industry.
It aims to become a world-leading platform for medical device innovation and medical-engineering conversion.
By leveraging Weigao's innovative solutions, the park will focus on advancing medical devices in critical areas such as general surgery, early screening and diagnosis, health technology, and blood purification metabolism.
It is designed as a one-stop specialized medical device park equipped with full-service functionalities, including Contract Research Organizations (CRO), Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMO), and Contract Sales Organizations (CSO).
The park is expected to help overcome challenges in biomedical materials and high-end medical devices, attract top international talent, and establish a new landmark for the Yangtze River Delta region's biomedical industry.
In tandem with the park's inauguration, the Yunxing Medical-Engineering Joint Concept Verification Center was launched. The center is dedicated to fostering cross-disciplinary innovation in medical devices and medical-engineering conversion.
The Minhang District Enterprise Talent Service Station and the Hongqiao Qianwan Biomedical Talent Service Center were also established to help create a talent-friendly environment, supporting the high-quality advancement of the regional biomedical industry.
