In Shanghai city's Hongqiao International Central Business District, or CBD, the first session of the European Partnership Program – European Major Buyers Matchmaking Meeting was held on Aug 20-21.
The meeting aimed to strengthen Hongqiao's role as a new hub for international trade and to help Yangtze River Delta companies seize procurement opportunities between China and Europe.

The event was hosted by the Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center (East Hongqiao), supported by the Changning District Commerce Commission and was organized by Alibaba.com's East China division.
It brought together nine leading European manufacturers and traders and 34 quality suppliers from Shanghai and East China.
European buyers came with clear procurement needs in areas such as consumer electronics and new energy, which were right in line with the Yangtze River Delta's manufacturing strengths.
On Aug 20, a targeted matching model paired each buyer with three to four suppliers for 30-minute sessions, enabling in-depth discussions.
On Aug 21, buyers visited local factories to gain first-hand insights into regional production capacity and supply chain advantages.
Moving forward, the program will be established as a branded series to further boost China-Europe trade under the model of "Yangtze River Delta manufacturing, Hongqiao services and international markets".
