A new service window for overseas Chinese affairs has been launched at Shanghai's Hongqiao International Central Business District — offering streamlined services for overseas Chinese folks in Shanghai.
The facility was inaugurated in March and is now fully operational.
I. Services available
01 Collection and preliminary review of application materials for recognition of foreign Chinese identity
Applicable to:
● Foreign citizens of Chinese origin with a doctoral degree or above, or those who have worked for at least four years in the city's Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone, the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Yangpu district, or Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and intend to apply for permanent residence in China.
● Foreign citizens of Chinese origin coming to Shanghai for private affairs, employment, studies, or participation in business, scientific, educational, cultural, medical, or sports exchanges — who intend to apply for a multiple-entry visa valid for up to five years, or a residence permit valid for up to five years.
