Ingka Group, with IKEA Retail as its core business, has launched its shared workspace brand, Hej!Workshop, at Livat Office in Shanghai's Changning district, marking the first Grade-A office project operated by Ingka Centres in China.

The new Hej!Workshop embodies the brand's vision of creating "a better place between home and office". Designed in Nordic style, the space features a bright and green ambiance and office modules from Ikea, a sibling brand of Livat Office within Ingka Group.

The workspace features private offices, flexible desks, and meeting rooms for short-term and long-term leases, providing flexibility for a wide range of users, from startups to freelancers.

Ma Jian, vice president of mixed-use operations at Ingka Centres, highlighted that the workshop's proximity to over 300 brands within the Shanghai Livat complex allows it to blend work, dining, shopping, and entertainment. The workspace also uses a FlexPrime smart system to simplify bookings.

Building on its presence in cities like Stockholm and Paris, the launch of the workshop in Shanghai marks a key step in its global expansion strategy. So far, Livat Office has attracted a strong lineup of tenants — including the Canadian automotive parts producer Magna International Inc and the German technology and services provider Bosch Group — five of which are Fortune Global 500 companies.

With a long-term commitment to the Chinese market, Ingka will further enhance its office offerings and build them into a more open ecosystem that injects momentum into business development in Shanghai's Hongqiao Linkong Economic Demonstration Zone.
