Starting Sept 1, China Eastern Airlines has upgraded its pet-friendly travel services, allowing more passengers to fly with their furry companions.
The service now covers 93 additional routes, including flights between Shanghai and popular destinations such as Sanya, Dalian, and Changsha.
To make the process easier, the airline has streamlined applications. Passengers can submit requests through the China Eastern Airlines app or mini-program as late as 24 hours before departure.
Once approved, travelers and their pets enjoy shared cabin space along with access to dedicated check-in counters and professional in-cabin services.
The pet travel service is available only in designated economy sections, with a limit of one pet per passenger and no more than two pets per flight.
Travelers must present the necessary documents, including an animal quarantine certificate and proof of vaccination, and pets must be accompanied by passengers aged 18 or older. During the flight, pets are required to wear muzzles and diapers.
