The sixth World Technology Managers Summit and the eighth Yangtze River Delta International Innovation Challenge recently took place in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District.
Over 1,000 technology managers from seven countries attended discussions that were centered around cross-border collaboration, artificial intelligence and future industries.
Participants included representatives from more than 100 universities and research institutions, over 500 companies and 300 investment firms.
Li Youping, deputy director of the Torch Center at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted the role of technology managers as key players in cross-border collaboration and industrial innovation.
He called on attendees to leverage the summit as a springboard to engage with global technological trends, connect with international resources and promote China's technological strengths worldwide.
He also emphasized the importance of focusing on the Yangtze River Delta, while maintaining a global perspective to enhance technology's impact on the economy.

Kong Fu'an, executive deputy director of the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District Administrative Committee, noted the rapid pace of globalization and the reshaping of trade and supply chains.
He stressed the importance of Chinese companies expanding internationally and becoming active global participants, with the Hongqiao CBD serving as a crucial platform for such efforts.
To connect the tech needs of big enterprises with technology managers, the summit included a special ceremony to announce and match their demands. The initiative aims to create a bridge for innovation resources in the Yangtze River Delta through collaboration between government, businesses and experts.
The summit focused on linking tech needs, developing cross-border talent and enhancing international cooperation.
It aimed to speed up technology transfers, improve industrial collaboration and integrate global resources. A new training program — the Hongqiao Cross-Border Technology Trade Training Camp — was launched to develop talent for the international technology trade and to strengthen cooperation.
The summit was said to have enhanced connections between Shanghai and global technology leaders, but also established a platform for collaboration among technology managers worldwide.
It supported the Yangtze River Delta's goal of becoming a hub for international technology trade and innovation — offering a "China solution" for global collaborative technological development.
