The Shanghai General Station of Immigration Inspection has introduced a series of measures to enhance support for the 8th China International Import Expo, which is set to take place in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10.

These initiatives focus on expediting clearance, enhancing services, and improving safety. Their key points are as follows:

1. Opening expedited immigration channels

● Dedicated channels for the 8th CIIE at Pudong and Hongqiao airports.

● On-site processing of temporary entry permits in a "one-stop" manner for immediate clearance.

● Enhanced on-site guidance to improve entry efficiency and smoothness.

2. Providing courtesy services for important guests

● Tailored facilitation based on a "one group, one plan" approach.

● Services include pre-arranged clearance, dedicated inspection zones, and group passage arrangements.

3. Optimizing clearance experience

● Clear work assignments and improved inspection procedures.

● Innovative measures such as "personnel classification inspections, zoned guidance, and time-phased channel switching".

● Promotion of "transit tourism" initiatives in collaboration with cultural and tourism departments.

4. Setting fast-track channels for exhibits

● A "Transport-clearance-unloading-transit" green channel for timely exhibit delivery.

● "Pre-arrival inspections" and "one-time processing" for international vessels carrying CIIE exhibits at seaports.

● Priority handling for urgent cargo flights and streamlined procedures for international crew members at airports.

5. Offering real-time responsive services

● A dedicated CIIE hotline on the 12367 service platform for inquiries on immigration policies.

● A multilingual volunteer team providing assistance in English, French, Japanese, Korean, and more, available 24/7.

6. Upgrading immigration management package

● Staff stationed at the exhibition venue for policy guidance and consultations.

● One-stop services for eligible foreign personnel, including residence permit issuance and expedited clearance information registration.

7. Ensuring safety, stability

● Implementing rigorous security measures at ports to prevent cross-border crime and ensure the safety of Shanghai.

● Utilizing the collaboration mechanism among immigration agencies in the Yangtze River Delta region to enhance information sharing, coordinated law enforcement and joint case investigations to create a secure setting for the CIIE.

8. Improving law enforcement

● Strengthening the use of digital, intelligent inspection platforms.

● Accelerating the implementation of innovative policing methods to enhance risk prevention and precise management capabilities.

● Following a people-oriented law enforcement philosophy and using legal means to resolve conflicts and maintain stability.
